Awesome Bloggers | August

Oh. My. Goodness. Where do I start?  Last month seems to have been filled with so many fabulously, amazingly awesome new blogs to explore.

I love discovering a new blog and spending time ages and ages trailing through it, looking at all the photos and finding out little bits about the blogger.  I become an almost mini stalker for a short time.  Don't judge me - I know you do it too!

Some blogs I discover are nice just to look through once, others I find, I know I'll be reading their future posts for at least the next few months, and that's what this little space is for - a look back on the blogs I've recently discovered that I'd love to share with you.

ajoyfulkindoflife

Rosy over at A Joyful Kind Of Life has a wonderful little lifestyle blog that I simply adore.  My favourite feature on her blog has to be Sunday's Letters.  In fact I'm thinking of pinching the idea for over here on Gemzicle Sprinkles (hope you don't mind Rosy). There's a bit of everything on Rosy's blog so if you're like me and enjoy cooking, crafts, bits of fashion I'm sure you'll love Rosy's blog.  There's also some fab links to lots of blog hop parties if you have a blog you'd like to try and grow using parties.

Formerly Army Ever After, Elizabeth Loves is a place where Elizabeth shares so many aspects of her life with us.  She's a military wife living in Hawaii.  I literally drool when I see her photos in her recipe posts.  I love the way she writes and  I find myself grinning to myself as I'm reading as I feel like she's really talking to me.

Papervein is the works of the lovely, self confessed crazy cat girl Amanda.  Any girl who is a crazy cat girl is a winner in my book as I'm kinda one myself.  She shares her thoughts and experiences on many different topics.  I've realised that this is what I like in a blog.  I love it when there's a variety of posts as it keeps my short attention span focused.

Wake Up Wednesdays

Kitchen Meets Girl is, as the name would suggest, a foodie blog.  Written by Ashley, a married mother of one who didn't always love to cook.  Her recipes are simply delightful with something for everyone including breakfast ideas, slow cooker delights and healthier option ideas.  But, the thing I love the most about this blog is that if you fancy making one of the recipes you can create your own shopping list.  It's cool. You'll have to go and check it out.

The Blog Guide

The Official Blog Guide is different from the others as you can probably tell from the title and only really of use if you're a blogger.  As a relatively new blogger there's so much for me still to learn about the technical side of blogging.  I find this blog really informative on lots of different aspects of blogging, it has daily link up parties which are growing in popularity and it really visually appeals to me.

Awesome Bloggers | July

Hola Sparkly1s

I really feel like I found my way with blogging in June.  It was only my second month into this whole blogging malarkey.  I also found lots and lots of wonderful new blogs.  It was a hard task whittling it down to 5 to feature in my Awesome Blogs post but here goes.

I love Carries blog.  It's so clean and bright to look at that it instantly calms me.  She is a beauty / lifestyle blogger with some baking thrown in for good measure.  I particularly love her picture posts which are full of wonderfully vibrant photos of her life.  A new feature are her 'Bits & Pieces' posts which I am soo in love with.

Lyndsay Fizzy Peaches seems just like the kinda girl I want to sit down n share a cocktail with.  I love the variety in her posts.  She writes about her life and what she gets up to, which, if you're like me, you'll love nosing in on.  Her blogging tips are great and I feel are really helping me with my blog, so thanks Lyndsay.

Kirsties blog just makes me smile.  Simple as.  I love the name. I love the look.  I love everything.  If you go onto her About Me page she describes herself as 'a 23, natural blonde, a tea drinker, biscuit eater, make-up hoarder, obsessive shopper, festival lover, movie nerd & bookworm.'  She's also just ventured into the scary YouTube world and posted her first YouTube video.

This blog is different from ones I usually love.  It's definitely more about the writing.  (I love photography and so tend to enjoy more photograph heavy blogs).  She's more of a lifestyle blogger with some bits of beauty and fashion thrown in here and there.  Her recent social media post was really thought provoking and I'm discovering I quite like that in a blog.
I'm sure Louise needs no real introduction to most people out in blogosphere.  She is just fabulous!  I love her blog in general and adore her chatty, bubbly personality but this month it has been extra special.  She has blogged about her trip to Seattle to see a best friend she has made through blogging, yet never met.  It's just a really heart-warming, inspiring, emotional story that shows how truly amazing this blogging malarkey is.
I hope you've enjoyed this months Awesome Bloggers and it's maybe introduced you to some new lovely ladies and their blogs - make sure you go ahead and click those clicky links.

Awesome Bloggers

Hola my lovely Sparkly1s.  I hope you're having a fun weekend so far.  I've spent pretty much most of mine trying to jazz up my blog.  It's been fun & extremely frustrating at times.  I don't know what HTML stands for, let alone how I need to use it in my blog...  Or should I say, I didn't yesterday morning.

As I was editing my blog this beautiful double rainbow appeared in the field opposite.

I've added a sparkly new header, social media buttons, pages, a nice little photo of me even created a button!  I still wouldn't say I understand HTML but I'm starting to get it.

I've used lots of other blogs to help me out so I thought I'd share a few of the best ones with you in case you're just starting out or maybe you've had your blog a while & fancy sprucing things up a bit.

Marie is a freelance web developer so if you're feeling lazy she could do your blog design for you.  Her blog, however, is fantastic.  She has various, easy to understand tutorials on all kinds of subjects such as general blogging, SEO and HTML.

Karen has a lovely little blog with a feature called Blogging Tips.  She guides you step by step (with screenshots) through various aspects of blogging.  She also has loads of cool ideas on how to organise your stuff, has some wonderful sewing tutorials and you just have to go and take a peek at pictures of her sewing room.  I'd love to be set free in there for a few hours to discover all the hidden gems.

This blog has a Techy Tuesday feature which is fantastic.  She taught me how to not have a title on my gadgets and how to add a pin it button to my pictures. The blog has a very clean, simplistic design that I really like.

Do you know any other great blogs that can help people like me who are just starting out?  Give them a mention in the comments so we can all take a look at them.

What do you think of the new look?
